Social Media Coordinator

Collaborating with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, this position will create and seek out opportunities to strategically tell the story of Metro Exhibits, its culture and its value proposition, using unique, disruptive techniques, emerging trends, and best practices in social media to engage with current and prospective customers, partners, colleagues and employees.

Essential Functions

  • Produce relevant, engaging, high-quality outputs across a changing landscape of social media platforms by conceiving, pitching, producing, and posting a variety of unique but purposeful content.
  • Produce a mix of content including text, video, explainer video, live streaming, infographics, engaging outside sources when needed.
  • Continuously assess the social media landscape for emerging trends and best practices
  • Evaluate and make recommendations on social media platform usage/mix.
  • Community management of all incoming messages and requests on all social media platforms.
  • Measure, analyze, and report views, engagements (likes, comments, shares) and conversions of organic and paid social media and adjust as needed to maximize ROI.
  • Monitor the trade show environment.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelors

Field of Study: Marketing, Business or Communications

Work Experience: 2-3 years in a B2B social media role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong writer with interest in learning about the trade show industry and internal and external stakeholders
  • Talented storyteller across all media formats
  • Ability to fully produce (storyboard to record to edit) video, photos, etc.
  • Strong desire to communicate and work with others at all levels/functions.
  • Adobe Creative Suite (including Premiere Pro and Photoshop) experience desirable.
  • Eye for grammar and accuracy
  • Professional and pleasant demeanor with a go-getter attitude
  • Hardworking, organized self-starter with strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of the trade show industry a plus
  • Ability to analyze, select and utilize equipment necessary to fulfill job function.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Search for key opportunities for content: in the office, warehouse, trade show floor, customer/organizer/staff communications, etc.
  • Build a social media content calendar for each account and drive day-to-day content creation and strategy.
  • Follow and engage with social media industry influencers, customers, and organizers to demonstrate interest, show thought leadership, and brand Metro as a valuable partner/vendor.
  • Elicit interviews with staff and customers internally and offsite (at installs and trade shows).
  • Learn exhibit industry—learn to call out what makes Metro Exhibits special, valuable, and interesting.

Other Requirements:

Physical Requirements: The physical demands are minimal and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations. Some shoots may require climbing ladders.

Key Performance Indicator (K.P.I.)

  1. 10 posts/month (each on at least 3 platforms among: LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest and/or TikTok or other sites)
  2. Social media calendar: full year overview, 2-month detailed
  3. Average 5% YOY increase of followers, engagements and conversions across all platforms
